Background Information:

Merry is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who completed her Doctorate in 2005 at the University of Leeds. She has worked in NHS settings continuously since this time and currently co-Leads an Adult Physical Health Clinical Psychology alongside a small private practice.  She is a member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists (ACP) and is registered with the HCPC.  She has considerable experience helping people to manage the psychological and emotional impact of having physical health conditions in particular, cancer, cardiac and respiratory conditions, fatigue, and pain.  She has also specialised more recently in helping people with work-related issues and in supporting organisational systems to improve wellbeing.  She is able to provide psychological support and therapy to people impacted by mood difficulties, anxiety including health anxiety, panic, single trauma, and relationship and attachment difficulties.  She is also experienced at working with adult-aged family systems such as couples, siblings and parents and children (adult) and can work with neurodivergence.  She is trained to provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and draws on may other models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Psychodynamic and Systemic Therapy.  She integrates evidence-based interventions tailored to an individual’s needs and priorities for therapy.

Merry also offers supervision to other psychological therapists and has completed training through the West Yorkshire Clinical Psychology Doctorate (formerly Leeds) training course in supervision.  She particularly specialises in providing supervision that support leadership and management and working with complex systems.

  • Intermediate Level Systemic Therapy Postgraduate Certificate

Appointments availability:

  • Mondays: 4pm to 7pm
  • Tuesdays: 9am to 4pm
  • Thursdays: 5pm to 7pm
