Background Information:

Kath is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, working in the NHS, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). Additional to her clinical training, she is a qualified CBT therapist (BABCP 2005-2010) and has qualifications in Family and Couples therapy (Institute of Family Therapy – Intermediate level).

Kath has over twenty five years' experience of working with children, adolescents and adults in NHS mental health services (including GP surgeries, paediatric and health psychology teams, community child and adolescent mental health services, adolescent inpatient units, and specialist eating disorders services). She has worked with people and their families/carers with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and mental health issues across the lifespan and with different levels of severity.

Kath is experienced in carrying out psychological assessments, including cognitive and educational assessments and works therapeutically with individuals, families and in group therapy. She is committed to working together with people towards their goals in a professional, collaborative and compassionate approach.

In addition to her specialist areas as detailed above, Kath has also undertaken training in health leadership and organisational processes.

Kath is trained in CBT and systemic approaches (family and couples therapy) and is able to work in an integrative way, drawing on these and other evidence based psychological therapies. She is committed to evidence based practice and outcome led therapy ensuring that therapy is regularly reviewed collaboratively with the client and parents/carers where appropriate.
