Robert has extensive experience of working with children, young people, and their families with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties, including anxiety, depression, self-harm, trauma, eating issues, anger, adjustment to physical health problems, attachment and relationship difficulties and bereavement/loss.

Robert can offer detailed psychological assessments and will draw upon a range of psychological approaches including cognitive-behaviour therapy, interpersonal therapy, systemic & family therapy and solution-focused therapy as part of any intervention. Robert is trained to screen and assess for autism spectrum conditions and attention problems in young people. Robert also has considerable experience of working in family therapy teams and offering consultation and training to different agencies, including schools and social care.

Background Information:

Robert is registered with the Health Professions Council and has worked in the independent sector since 2018 with a focus on supporting children, adolescents and families. Prior to this he worked for 13 years as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS. He worked for two years for a Community Psychology Team in London helping parents with mental health difficulties of children under the age of 5.

He then worked for 11 years in a local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, working in community and hospital settings and taking on different leadership roles, including the lead provision for children with autism and learning disability.

Qualifications:

  • Robert obtained his BSc in Psychology at the University of Birmingham in 1999 and qualified as a Clinical Psychologist at the University of London in 2005. Robert also completed Interpersonal Therapy Training in 2017.
