Ruth is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist currently working in a Secondary Care Mental Health Service in the NHS, working with individuals with complex mental health problems. She has a special interest in working with people who have experienced psychological trauma and has much experience in understanding and working with the effects of trauma.

Ruth draws on a number of models in order to tailor her care to each individual she works with. In particular, she uses Cognitive-Analytic Therapy (CAT), a time-limited therapy focussing on a collaborative understanding of an individual’s feelings, thoughts and actions, and the relational patterns (often stemming from childhood) which underlie these. In addition to CAT Ruth also uses Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
