She primarily works with individuals with problems such as those listed above, and also has experience and training in working with couples and family systems, as well as co-facilitating therapeutic groups. She offers specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapy.

Jo follows an integrative approach to psychological therapy, drawing on a number of different therapeutic modalities including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and mindfulness. In addition, much of her practice and understanding of human distress and dysfunction is informed by systemic and narrative therapies. Jo also has an interest and experience in working with people with cognitive difficulties, often as a result of acquired brain injury.

Jo offers a safe, non-judgemental space to explore a person’s difficulties and experiences to come to a shared understanding and way forward. The therapy approach is tailored to an individual’s particular presentation and needs, without being diagnosis driven.
